About the District
The Public Relations Society of America (PRSA) is the nation’s largest professional public relations association with more than 30,000 members and 10 regions nationwide. PRSA’s Western District consists of 11 chapters in five western states: Arizona, Colorado, Hawaii, southern California, and southern Nevada.
The Western District acts as a unified voice throughout the region with the goal to elevate the public relations profession by supporting professionals with comprehensive resources and cultivating leaders through relevant and engaging education. We provide support and resources for our chapters and their leadership so that they can better and more efficiently serve their members, share ideas and advance the industry.
Our District consists of elected board of directors and board members who act as representatives for the 11 chapters across the district. Representatives primarily consist of incoming and current members, as well as past chapter presidents. All assembly delegates and PRSA members within the district are invited to participate, with each individual receiving one vote for approval.

Mission

The Western District promotes PRSA’s overall goal to elevate the public relations profession through leadership development, networking opportunities, and provide educational resources to benefit PR professionals.

Western District Awards

During our Western District Conference, our district recognizes the outstanding work and excellent service our members achieve. The “Best in the West” award is given to an outstanding public relations program, and the “Platinum Service Award” highlights a leader who has made a difference in the public relations industry.

Leadership Support

The Western District supports chapter boards and committees with leadership training and education including an annual professional development event. The monthly affinity meeting is an opportunity to share best practices and thought leadership on communicating on nationwide trends to keep local chapters growing and thriving.
