The Public Relations Society of America Los Angeles Chapter (PRSA-LA), celebrated PR visionaries who are shaping a better, inclusive tomorrow for the industry and beyond during its seventh annual Sunrise Honors on Thursday, August 14 at the Los Angeles River Center & Gardens.
During the event, PRSA-LA honored PR vanguards:
- Christopher Cathcart, CEO & Founder, Diaspora Group; Adjunct Instructor, California State University, Northridge
- Laarni Rosca Dacanay, Senior Communications Leader, Entertainment & Media
- Francisco Oaxaca, Chief of Strategic Communications & Community Relations, L.A. Care Health Plan
- Monica Trasandes, Senior Director of Spanish-language Media & Latinx Media Representation, GLAAD
During a panel moderated by Amazon MGM Studios publicist Leshelle Sargent, the honorees discussed the role of AI, authentic representation in media, old school PR tactics vs. new school PR tactics, and the importance of clear communication in building trust.
