Mattel Takes Home Communication Team of the Year;
Runyon Saltzman Wins Best in Show and President’s Award
LOS ANGELES — The Los Angeles Chapter of the Public Relations Society of America (PRSA-LA) is thrilled to announce the 59th Annual PRism Awards winners. Mattel Inc. took home the coveted Communications Team of the Year Award, while Runyon Saltzman took home the most PRisms of the night, earning the President’s award for the third consecutive year, as well as Best of Show for its work to propel California’s digital equity plan.
Hosted by NBC4 Reporter Jonathan Gonzalez, the PRism Awards were held Thursday, Oct. 26, at the Los Angeles River Center & Gardens.
“It was an incredible night under the stars celebrating the best in public relations,” said Stephen Chavez, president of PRSA-LA and CEO of ChavezPR. “Through its programs, thought leadership, networking events, conferences, and so much more, PRSA makes you a better, smarter professional and helps to elevate the industry as a whole.”
Highlighting the evening was the presentation of the Lifetime Achievement Award to Leo Pearlstein. Known as the “Culinary King of PR,” Leo founded Lee & Associates and Western Research Kitchens, which became one of the top food and beverage agencies. Leo retired 10 years ago at the age of 93 – he recently celebrated his 103rd birthday.
In addition to honoring pioneers in the industry, PRSA-LA also introduced five deserving college communications students who received $1,500 scholarships each. These scholarship winners represent the future leaders of the public relations field.
The theme for this year’s ceremony, “Rise Together,” Chavez said, is a testament to the industry’s resilience and reflects the significant progress made by the PRSA-LA chapter. “The Los Angeles Chapter of PRSA is proud to be the most diverse in its membership and governance, ensuring that representation is seen and heard at the highest levels,” he added.
