We’re calling on both seasoned veterans and budding professionals in the public relations industry to join the next PRSA SD/IC 2021-2022 Mentorship Program!
The four-month program will give each pair the opportunity to explore personal and professional growth. Once paired, we recommend meeting for two hours each month in a virtual, in-person or hybrid format, depending on state and local guidelines.
Mentors will be chapter members with more than five years of experience. Mentees will have less than five years of experience in public relations. Those new to the industry or still taking classes are also welcome to apply.
The mentorship committee will send curated conversation starters and recommended readings each month. Pairs may use these resources as a platform for their conversation or branch out into other discussions. In addition to the conversation starters, participants will have access to exclusive webinars with professionals in San Diego and Imperial Counties.
Timeline
Each month includes a different topic with related webinars:
- October: Professional development and hard skills
- November: Personal development and soft skills
- December: Career development
- January: A recap on lessons learned in the program
The January webinar will cap the program with a virtual send-off. Each pair will have the opportunity to share their lessons learned and other epiphany moments from the last four months.
Meetings
Participants can meet in a virtual, in-person or hybrid format, depending on state and county guidelines. We ask participants to communicate their preferences before the first meeting.
For the participants who meet virtually, we recommend using the following platforms: Zoom, Microsoft Teams or Google Meet.
We understand that your time commitments may change throughout the program. If you are unable to continue meeting or wish to meet with a different person, please reach out to the mentorship committee immediately.
